Dave Letterman Makes His Recovery From The Extortion Scandal
CBS's late-night icon Dave Letterman has been the host of "The Late Show With David Letterman" since 1993, and he has become one of the most famous and funniest comedians in the late-night TV circuit. Now it has been announced that he is starting to branch out to music. No, he's not singing a duet with Barbra Streisand. He's founded his own record label, Clear Entertainment/C.E. Music. The label is a subsidiary of his production company, Worldwide Pants, Inc. and has already announced the label's first signee: from Huntington Beach, California, it's our very own Runner Runner (April 26 - May 3, 2009). The news was announced earlier today that Runner Runner became the first act ever signed to the label, and their first album will be released this summer with a distribution deal in partnership with Capitol and MRV. Dave made a great decision with this one, and I always knew he was better than greedtastic Jay Leno.
Runner Runner consists of frontman Ryan Ogren, guitarists Nick Bailey and Peter Munters, bassist Jon Berry, and drummer James Ulrich. Their first single is "So Obvious", which has racked up over eight million plays on MySpace already. This Week's Poll Was Redone Because We Got A Nominee's Name Wrong
Well, you've been reading our Twitter updates about how we have been apologizing for an error we made. It was difficult to explain ourselves completely in one update, especially since you cannot go over 140 characters, so here's the full explanation.
We made a poll for this week's contest, and we had 5 nominees. So after it was created, we started sending out notifications to everyone. When we tried to notify one of the nominees, we realized that the band we were looking for was called Light This City. For some reason, we entered in Sound The City, which was the name of another band that did not live in the state that we were focusing on this week. The first link that we sent out was http://www.wishafriend.com/poll/101796/ for the first version of the poll. When we realized the problem, we had to go back and remake the poll with the right names of our nominees. The new and correct poll link is http://www.wishafriend.com/poll/101797/. The first one had already pulled in 4 votes because we notified the first two nominees, which were spelled correctly. However, we didn't reset the vote count despite having to do a new poll. When we take a look at the results from the revised poll, we will transfer in the votes from the first poll. Whenever we make an error in a poll, we always redo it and resend our notices back out to everyone, so we try not to make a big deal out of it. This was just an error that would have mislead a fan to the wrong nominee.

Cartel Supporting We The Kings On Tour This Spring
We always love whenever former EdgeMusic winners go out on tour together, because there are so many reasons for us to be excited about a concert. We can go on for hours about past tours that featured more than one EdgeMusic alum, but today, we will talk about the latest tour announced. Cartel is set to play as opening act for We The Kings for 15 dates this spring. It begins April 11th at Rocketown in Nashville, Tennessee and ends May 8th at Rockford Park in Wilmington, Delaware. Music Celebrities say Go Get Jason Derulo's Album!
This week's EdgeMusic Artist of the Week, Jason Derulo, will be releasing his self-titled debut album next Tuesday. The album features the hits "In My Head" and "Whatchu Say". Jason made a YouTube video to promote the album by getting a bunch of fellow musicians asking you to buy the album when it comes out. He got some great people to be in the video (except for Sean Kingston). The video features Jordin Sparks, Isaac Slade from the Fray, and Jay Sean to name a few. He even got previous EdgeMusic winners Kris Allen and Martin Johnson, lead singer of Boys Like Girls, to promote his album as well.
I certainly will be buying the album. I already pre-ordered it on iTunes. You can pre-order it right now for $7.99, and you'll also get a bonus track with it.
