Yesterday, we ran the poll for our ninth preliminary round in our EdgeMusic Artist of the Year Faceoff. We published the poll on our Facebook account and our Twitter account. This preliminary featured all the winners featured on EdgeMusic in September 2009. The winners from last month are:
*Cheap Trick (September 6 - 13)
*Tamar Kaprelian (September 13 - 20)
*The Helio Sequence (September 20 - 27)
*David Cook (September 27 - October 4)
The poll ran for only yesterday throughout the whole day. Now we will reveal our ninth semi-finalist. So far, we have had Locksley, Seymoure, Kelly Clarkson, Junior Doctor, Jimmy Wayne, Wake the Light, Jonas Sees In Color, and The Right Coast put through to the next stage. Yesterday, 21 votes were cast. Winning by a close 38% of the vote...

Congratulations to Tamar Kaprelian on advancing to the next stage, and thanks to everyone who voted. Cheap Trick received no votes, but The Helio Sequence and David Cook put up a good fight. One vote separated the first and second place artists, and one vote separated the second and third place artists. Tamar will represent the September winners in our semi-finals. She will be the first person to participate in our third semi-final round. In the next three months, we will determine the semi-finalists from October, November and December. The semi-finals will take place at the end of the year.
